In the end, everything will be all right. If it is not all right....it is not the end

This past weekend was a dream come true. I wrapped up the holiday show season with a collaborative studio sale. Karen Franzen, Sally Ayre, Susan Higgins and Leslie Songer Terry invited me to take part in their annual show at Karen's place. What an honor to be in the company of such seasoned talent. Not only were they an inspiration to me, but also our personalities really clicked. On top of that, sales were fantastic and the weekend flew by.

Although it's been a challenging year, business has grown and I have a lot to be thankful for. My level of resiliency has improved tenfold. I've learned that for an artist and entrepreneur, life brings as many obstacles as successes. The only way to make things really happen is to accept the bumps as they come and try to keep improving one's strategy without losing that playful sense of creativity.

Being a perfectionist is both a blessing and a curse. The best piece of advice I could give to someone like me is that if you are afraid of failure, throw yourself head-on into the proverbial fire. Nothing is ever as scary as it seems, and in the end you will always be glad you took the risk.

On that note, I quote Thoreau:
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

Happy Holidays

Last Show of the Year

Starting tonight, and continuing through the weekend, I'll be showing/selling at Karen Franzen's studio. It's an honor for me to associate with such talented established artists. If anyone missed my own studio sale, this will be the last chance to get 2008 adornments before I head off to BC for the holidays.
